SCRIPTURE MEMORY 10/1/2019

As the sun was coming up, we found ourselves in our backyard, enjoying the birds that were singing. Mallory was running back and forth on the back porch, chasing lizards, as she loves to do! She caught one a while back, but quickly let it go because it startled her! She wasn’t expecting to catch it! She just loves playing chase!

We sometimes forget to stop and listen to the beautiful songs that God has given to us through nature. Little birds singing, little frogs talking, little Mallory’s running around talking to the lizards, crickets chirping. The sounds of nature are there, but are we listening to them? Do we hear them?

Romans 10:17 says, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.”

In this instance, hearing means to accept with a positive response. Word means something uttered by a living voice. Christ is God, the Diety.

We accept with a positive response that which is uttered by a living voice concerning God.

God’s Word changes lives for all of eternity. We should pay close attention to it. We shouldn’t take it so lightly. How many of us have Bibles on our shelves that we never open? They sit there, looking pretty, or maybe they sit there, gathering dust.

Remember the definitions from above? We accept with a positive response that which is uttered by a living voice concerning God.

That’s why listening to a sermon is critical. That’s why reading your Bible out loud is important. That’s also why I ask you to share the videos with your friends and family. Someone you know may need to hear God’s Word in order to hear it and believe (the positive response to something uttered by a living voice concerning God). Did someone’s name pop into your head just now? That is who you should be sharing your faith with. If you’re new to sharing your faith, share this devotion/video with a group of friends. Facebook, for example, is a great place to share because it doesn’t single out any individual. Your simple act of obedience to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to share with someone doesn’t just have the power to change their life. It has the power to change their life forever. For. Ever.

Build bridges and allow God to change your life. You will never regret it.

In His love,
Tini
