With Thanksgiving right around the corner and my love for the Psalms, I have chosen Psalm 147:7 as our verse. It says, “Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; Sing praises to our God on the lyre.”
The psalmist is telling us to respond in thanksgiving through songs of praise and thanksgiving. The psalmist knew this to be a great way to renew our soul. God often speaks to me through song, does He speak to you too? This is why I love singing to my Jesus music at the top of my lungs! We shouldn’t worry if we have perfect pitch. That is the enemy planting seeds of doubt and fear in us to keep us quiet. The Lord isn’t interested in perfect pitch. When He hears us, it’s made perfect. Pretty cool huh? Kinda takes the pressure off doesn’t it?
In our church, the first Sunday in January is called “Juke Box Sunday”. All of our services come together at one time. We pass the microphone around to tell others of God’s love, grace, mercy and faithfulness in our lives. We also request our favorite hymn and we all sing together. It’s one of my favorite Sunday’s, even though I struggle choosing a favorite hymn! How about you? What’s your favorite hymn or worship song? Turn it up today and sing it like you mean it! When you go to church this Sunday, and you’re in the praise and worship portion of your service, sing it like you mean it! Feel the chains come off! Feel His perfect love! Feel His never ending love! Don’t worry about anyone else around you. Sing to the Lord, your audience of One.
Build bridges and allow God to change your life.
You will never regret it.
In His love,
