Scripture Memory 4/15/2019

Wow! We are already beginning to memorize our 8th verse this year! Great job!! If you are enjoying your journey of learning more about the wonderful God we serve, please share this with your friends. You can help make the world a better place by helping one person at a time.
There is a cover song, “Everlasting God”, that is played on Christian radio quite often. I hope you will listen to it today for it’s uplifting message. It comes from Isaiah 40, where God is telling the Israelites, who are in exile, to cry out to Him. He reminds them that their way is not hidden from the Lord. He tells them He is the everlasting God. He doesn’t grow weary or get tired. He gives strength to the weary.
Isaiah 40:31 “Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. “
Waiting for the Lord isn’t passive. It’s not hopelessly doing nothing. It’s looking expectantly for the Lord. When you are looking forward to your dream vacation, do you just do nothing and hope it all goes well? I know I don’t. I like to research where I’m going so I know what I would like to do when I get there. The same is true for waiting expectantly for God. I enjoy reading my Bible and researching what key words mean in a scripture. I enjoy reading short devotions to encourage me as I begin my day. The more I learn about God’s ways, the more I recognize His work in my life. The more I recognize His work in my life , the more grateful I am. My gratefulness is an act of worship. How about you?
Are you going through something that is out of your control? Talk to God.
Are you feeling helpless? Cry out to God.
If you are dealing with something you know you can’t do on your own , pour out your heart to the Lord. He is waiting to hear from you. He is faithful to listen. God doesn’t just love you, although that would be enough. God IS love.
Look expectantly for God and He will give you the strength you need. Experience the promises of God. Experience the Bible coming to life for you. When you do, share it with someone to encourage them.
Build bridges and allow God to change your life. You will never regret it.
In His love,
