Scripture Memory 9/15/2019

I started out in Ephesians, which led me to Acts, which led me to our scripture in Joel. In Acts, Peter talks about the Day of Pentecost that is in Joel 2:28-29. The section in my Bible calls it “The Promise of the Spirit”.
You were baptized in the Spirit the day you accepted Christ as your Savior. It didn’t happen when you went through with believers baptism, when you were immersed, or sprinkled. It happened when you asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. Do you believe this or do you “think” it’s true because someone said so? Do you have an experience in your life where you KNOW you accessed and activated the power of the Spirit inside you?
I recently watched a video of a grown man who was asked to sit in a tiny chair. He refused to sit in this chair, even after he heard the specifications that proved the chair would support him. In fact, he didn’t sit in the chair until he saw another guy, similar to his size, sit in the chair. His brain knew the chair would hold him, but he couldn’t take the action til he saw someone else do it first.
Are you going through something in your life that your brain is telling you God can help you, but you just can’t take the action of handing over to Him? Instead of asking God to change your circumstance, ask Him to lead you through it. We do that in the name of prayer don’t we? We ask God to change our circumstance to something easier for us. If you will ask God to take it and lead you through it, instead of wandering around on your own, you will grow in your relationship with God. Isn’t that why we are here?
If you recently took the step of faith with God, share your situation with someone. They may be going through something similar and need your encouragement. Remember the guy in the chair?
Build bridges and allow God to change your life. You will never regret it.
In His love,
